There are
many different varieties of perennials for every season. The varieties that bloom
mid-summer are the most colourful of them all. They provide the beauty to the garden to
cover all the dying back bulbs and summer dormant perennials. Many of the summer blooming
perennials are favourites of the butterfly and hummingbird since they find the warm
weather so inviting. There are a few reliable favourites that everyone should have in
their garden, such as, Rudbeckia (Black-Eyed Susan), Showy Sedums (Stonecrop), Echinacea
(Coneflower) and Gallardia (Blanket Flower). All of those varieties do best in full sun.
Some of the popular shade perennials for mid-summer are Hostas (Plantain Lilies) and
Astilbe (False Spirea).List of Mid-Summer Bloomers From Medallion
