What to Look for
When choosing a Medallion Perennial look at the label for an
upright habit and longer stemmed variety. The perennials that have nice flowers on a
shorter stem are not as useful and are usually weaker in stem strength. The stronger stem
allows for better handling and longer vase life.
Care and Maintenance
Now that you have purchased your Medallion Perennial , you are
excited to get it home and plop it in the garden. A few steps must be put in place first.
The first thing you must do is be sure the perennial that you have purchased is suitable
for the spot you had in mind. After planting your Medallion Perennial
make sure they are watered well until they are established. As the plant grows it will
probably need to be staked. Most of the Medallion Perennials that have
nice flowers for cutting will be tall. To prevent the flowers from being bent or spoiled
they must be staked. There is a list below of some perennials that are suitable for use as
cut flowers.
